The Navigators

2nd & 3rd Grades

These years bring the ideas of Outdoor Education to new heights. Whether we are in our outdoor classroom on the Swan campus, or on a Wild Wednesday trip to a local beach, park, historical, or cultural site, the Navigators are consistently engaged in a variety of core academic subject areas utilizing hands-on, project-based learning concepts. These learning experiences raise student interest and enthusiasm, while promoting academic challenge, independence, resilience, and collaboration.

Often, as our students’ curiosity and wonder grow, so do our projects, bringing relevant and timely ideas into our learning throughout the year. At Swan, students are encouraged to engage in a deep exploration of their environment and academics each and every day, as they learn to ‘navigate’ the world around them.
